Barbco Inc. and NUCA National have been working together since Barbco’s beginnings in the early 90’s. Today, Barbco is a sustaining partner of NUCA National, and an Annual Partner of the regional NUCA Ohio Chapter. Barbco’s two domestic dealers also play active roles in NUCA. Barbco’s Ohio dealer Trenchless Rental Solutions is also a sustaining Partner of NUCA National and Barbco’s Texas dealer U.S. Shoring & Equipment Co. is a Premier Partner of NUCA North Texas.
James V. Barbera from Trenchless Rental solutions has continued the Barbera’s involvement in NUCA by becoming a NUCA Ohio Director at Large and has also been appointed to the chairman of the safety committee.
NUCA has been a staple in the underground construction industry for years. Since their beginning they have worked to promote the underground utility and excavation contracting industry before legislators and regulators. They have also succeeded in thwarting laws and regulations that threatened the industry’s viability and profitability and pushed for laws that are helpful to its members businesses and the environment in which they operate.
In recent years Barbco and NUCA’s relationship has grown tremendously. This began in early 2020 when Barbco President David Barbera was appointed to the NUCA Board of Directors. The Board of Directors are essential in the overall progression of NUCA throughout the United States. The annual meetings held by NUCA are a great opportunity for industry professionals to talk about specific challenges and opportunities they are faced with. David plays a unique roll as a NUCA Board of Director, being that he is a manufacturer. Being on the B.O.D gives him the opportunity to talk with domestic contractors to get a good pulse on the industry from their point of view, furthermore it allows for conversations on what works best in the field which is essential from a manufacturers point of view.

After four years of volunteer effort by industry professionals, NUCA’s Trenchless Construction and New Installation Methods manual has been updated by the trenchless experts and professionals of NUCA’s Trenchless Technology Committee.”
